How it works

How it works when your file is complicated

Six steps. No lender list, no credit check to start, and a real person the whole way through.

See if you qualify →No credit check to enquire
  1. 1

    1. Your 60-second enquiry

Amount, purpose, state, property and a few honest questions about tax, credit and structure. No credit check when you first enquire.

  2. 2

    2. A specialist reads the whole file

Not a bot and not a call centre. Someone who works on declined and complex files every day reviews what you've told us.

  3. 3

    3. The phone call

We fill in the gaps, work out why the bank said no, and tell you whether there's a realistic path. If there isn't, you'll hear that too.

  4. 4

    4. One matched lender

We present your file to the lender whose policy fits it, with the explanation that a scorecard never gets to read.

  5. 5

    5. Documents, offer and your decision

You see the terms, costs and repayment plan before committing. A credit check happens only once you choose to go ahead.

  6. 6

    6. Settlement

Funds are paid to you, or directly to the ATO, creditors or the lender being refinanced.

What makes this different from applying to the bank again?

A bank application is judged against the bank's policy. If your file has a feature the policy doesn't allow for, the answer is no, however good the rest looks. We start from the other end: what's the feature, which lenders are comfortable with it, and what do they need to see? That's why the first conversation spends time on the parts you might rather skip. It's also why we built the decline decoder, so you can get a head start.

Common questions

Does the enquiry involve a credit check?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. We only discuss one once you've seen a realistic option and decided to proceed with a specific lender.

Will lots of lenders contact me?

No. We don't sell or spray enquiries. Your details stay with our team, and your file goes only to the lender that suits it, with your agreement.

What documents will I need?

It depends on the route. Property-secured loans usually start with ID, details of the property and what's owing on it, and your plan to repay. Unsecured options lean on recent business bank statements. If there's ATO debt, a current statement of account helps.

Why does accuracy on the form matter so much?

Difficult files are matched on detail. If we know about the default, the tax debt or the trust structure from the start, we go straight to a lender who handles it, instead of discovering it halfway through.

How much can I borrow?

Property-secured business loans range from $20,000 to $5,000,000. Unsecured and cash-flow options for trading businesses typically run from $5,000 to $500,000, sized on turnover and bank statements. Every loan is priced and sized on your individual circumstances.
